Step by step internet marketing, in my opinion is the systematic process of marketing a product on the internet; using four parts of a system called the “symphony of four parts”. This article will explain the four basic parts of internet marketing using a step by step internet marketing process.

The term, the “symphony of four parts”, by all means is not proprietary, or own by me. I am by no means the creator of this term, either. This is just a term that I have borrowed from a reputable speaker, to explain my understanding of step by step Internet marketing.

When I thought of the word symphony, what came to my mind was a song, being played by many musical instruments in an orchestra. Although these instruments were all different, they played the same tone in harmony with each other, in a systematic way.

If you are new to Internet Marketing, understanding these four parts of the symphony is critical to your success as an internet business owner. If you are not so new, then you may already be familiar with these four parts. Maybe not in the way it’s explained here in this article, but in any event you may have heard it explained.

If you are setting up a new business, whether online or offline you should always approach your setup, in a systematic way.

In my first paragraph above, you may have noticed that I used the words, “in my opinion”. When I mentioned these words, I am not necessarily referring to knowledge that I have acquired on my own, about setting up an internet business. My opinions are based on standardized marketing procedures that were tried and tested by many internet business owners, when setting up their internet business.

The symphony of four parts consists of “Keyword and Market Research”, “Traffic”, “Conversion”, and “Product Creation”. To increase your chances of success as an internet marketer, these four parts should be carried out systematically.

The “symphony of four parts” is also a step by step internet marketing testing mechanism, designed to test a niche market for viability, so you do not waste your money by proceeding further with domain and hosting purchases. Could you imagine purchasing a domain name and hosting, then later finding out that there was no traffic available in the niche to make a profit?

Step 1 – Keyword and Market Research

Keyword and Market Research is the first part of the symphony. This represents step one in the process. If you get this part wrong, then your entire campaign will fail.

To better understand Market Research, we should first understand what a market consists of.

A market is basically a group of people, or a community that share a common interest in a particular subject, or product. A keyword is a related word, or phrase that is used to market a product, or service on the internet.

Every market has its own languages. A good example of a market may be “health food eaters”. These people may be interested in foods that can be eaten, that may produce healthier lifestyles. Their languages may include terms like calories, carbohydrates, or even terms like daily value of foods.

To have a successful business on the internet, you first need something to sell. Randomly selecting a product to sell, without proper keyword and market research, is not recommended. You should first decide on a market, and then choose a product within that market sell.

When you choose a market, rather than a product, you never have to be concern whether the product you have chosen to sell to your market, will be available when you need it. You can always choose another product in that market if your first product is not available or the company that manufactured the product goes out of business.

Could you imagine building a website that is product focused, rather than market focused? Your website would be at the mercy of the product creator. It is always recommended that you build your business focused on a market, rather than a product within that market.

Step 2 – Traffic

Step two in this process represents traffic. Once you have decided on a market and a keyword to promote, the next step would be to find out whether sufficient traffic exists with your keyword. Could you imagine setting up a campaign that has no traffic associated with your keyword? Without traffic your campaign will definitely be “doomed”.

Once you are satisfied that sufficient traffic exists with the keyword that you have chosen, then you have to decide on a traffic generating methods, to capture the traffic that is associated with that keyword.

Traffic can be obtained in many forms. It can be paid, or organic. Paid traffic is referred to as traffic generating methods like pay-per-click, and solo ads.

Pay per click is the process of placing ads on Google using their Ad Words advertising system. You only pay for this traffic if your ads are clicked by site visitors. Solo ads are ads that are emailed out using other people’s mailing list that are related to your market. These ads are targeted ads.

Organic traffic can be obtained freely by writing articles and then posting those articles to a directory in the hope that they may be syndicated further. This kind of advertising is referred to as passive article syndication.

Step 3 – Conversion

This step is all about the conversion of the traffic that visited your website. Conversion refers to the action your site visitor would take, once they are on your website. They may click an affiliate add located on your website, or even opt-in to receive your newsletter.

Step 4 – Product Creation

Product creation is the final part of the symphony. Product creation is the process of creating a product to sell to your market. After you have developed a relationship with your site visitors you can offer them your own product, rather that offering them a product from someone else.

Many business owners never create their own product. You can survive without creating your own product. I know of persons who are making thousands of dollars, selling other peoples products.

Step by step internet marketing is easy, once you have mastered, and understand the four parts of the symphony.

The third part of the symphony speaks about Traffic. There are many ways to receive traffic to your website once it has been setup properly. One free option is known as Article Syndication. Why pay for traffic when you can receive it freely.
