Welcome to Part-4 in our five part series on Multi Level Marketing Software Secrets for Saving You Tons of Time, Energy and Money. My purpose with this series is to review some of the best (and the worst) software out there so that you can dramatically increase your sales while just as dramatically reducing the time and energy you put into your business.
From the first article in this series, you may remember the list of the 7 different purposes that various types of free and paid software can fulfill in your Multi Level marketing (or network marketing) business. In this segment, we’re going to talk about software you can access that will carry out functions 5 and 6 on that list:
5. Improves your niche market identification and targeting
6. Improves interactivity with your leads and prospects, thereby improving your marketing and conversion
Precision Targeting of Your Markets:
While you were stuck in the unproductive and obsolete offline MLM marketing paradigm of targeting your friends and family, colleagues at the office and strangers just about anywhere you could find them, you probably paid scant attention to whether these people were in your target market. In fact, I remember one person who taught that method saying the target market was anyone between 30 and 65! The problem of course, was that virtually no one you approached was in your target market at all and you had to waste your precious time to find that out.
Now that you’re online, though, you have the unique possibility of becoming much more tightly focused and being able to get your message in front of people who want to hear what you have to say. One shift in perspective you have to make here is to realize that you have not one but several niche markets that you can approach and market to separately and in ways that resonate with them. It’s a common misconception among network marketers who have “just arrived” online that their only market is people looking for a business opportunity. In fact, even that market can be targeted geographically and demographically. For example, single mothers, people who have been laid off and other network marketers who have left a previous company are all specific niche markets within the larger business opportunity market.
And then you need to consider all the struggling network marketers out there whom you can help with your training and expertise, groups or institutions looking to use a money-making opportunity for fund raising purposes, people who simply want your company’s products, and a large number of other niche markets.
Once you’ve made that mental shift and realized how many different groups you can target, the question is how can you do that. How can you identify your specific target market’s way of thinking, its language, its emotional hot buttons? The first step is to find them online, and that means finding the keywords they use to look for what they want. What do they actually type into Google and other search engines?
Keyword Tools to Simplify Your Life:
Identifying the right keywords, understanding how many people use them per month, what they’re really looking for, whether they have any intention of buying anything and how much competition there is on these keywords is the key to several types of marketing you’ll be doing, including article marketing, video marketing and blog posting, to say nothing of pay-per-click.
There’s a vast array of keyword tools out there, both free and paid, and I have no intention here of doing an exhaustive survey. Google has an array of online tools that will provide you with lots of data for free. The most relevant here is the “Google External Keyword Tool”, which you can access right away simply by typing that into Google.
Of the paid alternatives, three come to mind as absolutely exceptional:
o Micro Niche Finder
o Hexatrack
o Marketing Samurai
If you’re serious about your using any of the free marketing methods I mentioned above or if you’re using pay-per-click advertising such as Google Adwords, then investing the roughly $100 – $150 required to get access to one of these tools is something I highly recommend. You can compare the features of each and in some cases take them for a free trial. My personal favorite at the moment is Micro Niche Finder. That said, they’re all of very high quality.
Using these tools allows you to:
1. Discover all the related keyword combinations (“long tail keywords”) your niche is using
2. See the monthly search volume on the keyword
3. See how much people are bidding on this keyword in their AdWords campaigns
4. Assess the commercial intent of the people typing in this keyword. Are they ready to buy or are they just looking for free information?
5. Get an immediate evaluation of the strength of your competition for that keyword and how easy or difficult it will be to rank on the first page or two of Google’s organic search results.
So, if you’re a network marketer setting up your business online for the first time, or if you’ve been here for a while and you’re trying to improve your results, you need to consider having a look at these tools.
Finding Out What Your Market Really Wants:
Your primary task is to build your online list of opt-in subscribers because these are the people you can market to continuously and who will become your raving fans.
But when was the last time you asked them what they wanted from you? If you haven’t done that recently, it’s time to start now. Marketing is about finding out what your market wants, not assuming you know. Do the latter, as so many of us have in the past, and you’ll really get burned!
There are lots of tools out there that can help you do this. One is the ASK Database, co-founded by Alex Mandossian, which bills itself as the world’s first and only “search engine for surveys”. This is a paid tool, but you can take it for a 21-day test drive.
Similar, but less focused on marketing, is Survey Monkey, one of the best survey systems on the net. With both free and paid services, Survey Monkey is extremely flexible and easy to use for nearly any type of surveying you want to do.
These tools allow you to find out:
1. Who’s on your list, by gender, age, etc.
2. Where they found you (if you don’t already know through other means)
3. Why they decided to follow you and what value they see as unique to you (you may be assuming the wrong thing)
4. What their greatest problems are
5. What kind of solutions they’re interested in and would be willing to pay for
And, perhaps best of all, when you decide to develop a solution for them, you can let them help you design it. This way, when you launch your new product or program, you know in advance it’ll buy it like hotcakes!
So the bottom line here is that you need to be able to locate your specific niche markets accurately in order to get your message in front of them. And once they join your list, you need to have 2-way communication with them. The tools I’ve shown you here can help you accomplish both, and for very low prices.
Join me next time for the fifth and final installment in our Multi Level Marketing Software Secrets series, when I’ll share with you some unusual software to help you overcome your greatest obstacle – your doubts, fears and self-limiting beliefs. Until then, happy marketing!
