I believe that it is vital to learn how to develop a progressive marketing strategy. When you have created an outstanding marketing plan or strategy you should ensure that it is always evolving and moving forward.

So here four ways that you can increase your marketing, so that your marketing strategy would be considered progressive and most definitely could be described as moving forward.

1. Focus on one specific area first and learn it completely and thoroughly. The key here is to become very proficient in this one area of marketing. Learn it from top to bottom, at your own pace.

Stay with this one particular area until you are extremely happy that you have covered all the bases and to in the position where you could actually guide, teach or instruct another how to be successful in this are.

Your progression as a marketer requires you to be totally confident in this first phase of your marketing plan, before you move on to something else. So that this beginning section becomes a good habit, which you can easily fit into your time schedule.

2. Having conquered one area you are now ready to take on another type of marketing. So let us say that initially you learnt how to write articles and promote them through syndication.

As an example, you have now chosen to become an expert in how to write a weblog and keep it updated on a regular basis.

Again you will need to stay with this form of marketing until you are in an authority on the subject. Obviously this is going to take some considerable length of time, but the key here is to generate leads for little or no cost.

I have heard experts state that you should have at least three forms of marketing under your belt. I think on a general basis this is correct, but you must choose how many different areas you can conquer within the time frame you have set yourself and the hours available to you personally.

I aim for three forms of marketing that take a little longer than most, such as blogs, articles and videos. But I also use three other faster methods such as social marketing, press releases and search engine marketing. Be prepared to change, test and become an all round marketer as quickly as possible.

The key here is to mix and match your marketing, varying the pace and intensity as you move along. You need a steady flow of leads to be successful in any online business, so find what suits you and choose the different amount of avenues for your marketing

3. I suggest regularly listening to or watching marketing training on individual subjects to learn new things and to hone the skills you already have. Personally I love watching training videos rather than listening to an audio as the primary way I learn a subject.

Consider also attending live marketing events and masterminding with experts to keep abreast of current updates and rubbing shoulders with the people of a like mind.

Find what form of training works for you best and then work out a time schedule and then stick to it.

4. The most critical key here is in relation to keeping things fresh and interesting. If you are bored with your marketing you can bet your prospective is as well and it will not work effectively. So, not only does this mean staying on top of your marketing plan, but allowing yourself time for other activities, such as exercise, reading, family and social functions.

The key component here is getting away from marketing and refreshing the soul and mind. The reason that you have to do other stuff is so that you stay sharp and aggressive with your marketing and do not blunt your weapons, making them useless.

The biggest weapon or asset that you have is your mind, so take some time off and do not listen to training for hours on end, take plenty of breaks and ensure you have an excellent diet.
