Aniboom brought on Neville Brody’s innovative graphic design firm Research Studios, to develop a new language for the animation content portal, one which incorporates the “movement of animation”.
Several significant changes have been made including the addition of a portfolio display, better video viewing experiences for creator animations and the more prominent featuring of career furthering opportunities such as competitions with international leading brand name companies. The new creator portfolio display feature, in which animators can present their work to the community, is just one example of how animators are assisted in gaining animation industry exposure through the site.
Aniboom Creative Director Idit Frankel described the re-branding process as a challenge to: “combine our need for a professional platform – for creators as well as potential clients and still serve as an entertainment platform for viewers who seek amazing animation… Research Studio’s deliveries stand out as the most cutting edge and yet as approachable as you can get.”

This new language represents what were identified as the core characteristics and personality of their brand value.
Aniboom’s international animation community to date comprises of over 7,000 animators from 72 countries around the globe. The independent content library, the largest in existence, features over 12,000 animated shorts, produced in a variety of mediums, including 3D, traditional 2D, Flash and stop motion among others.
Independent animators from around the globe create and submit original content via competitive online events. These events offer creators a variety previously inaccessible career furthering opportunities, enabling them to fast track their way into the animation industry. The line-up of world-class opportunities has included so far: Creation of music videos for Radiohead (The In Rainbows Music Video Competition) and the yearly Aniboom Awards judged by top industry pros and granting over $150,000 in prizes and development deals.
